Burbank Auto Repair

I recently brought my Honda Civic in to have the compressor in the air conditioner replaced. Chalard's Auto Repair did a wonderful job. I heard of them via a referral from a friend who highly recommended them and is also in the auto business. He doesn't know how they can do such great work and such affordable price. I drove all the way from Carlsbad to have my car worked on and would do it again. Chalard's provided exceptional service in a timely fashion and came through with everything they promised-actually they came in slightly less than quoted which was a nice surprise. On top of the great pricing they provided a year warranty!! The owner is a very sweet soft spoken man and very easy to business with and support. I highly recommend this auto repair shop.

My family is close with Chalard and has been bringing their cars into his shop for many, many years. He'll get the job done, try to save you a dollar, while not cutting corners or with any shadiness. Yes, his place does look crowded and messy, not as pretty as the dealership you're so comfortable with. It's the quality of the work that counts. Don't let the looks of the joint deceive you. I will warn you now, his place is busy. Sometimes it may take a little longer for your car to get fixed but how can you blame him when everyone is trying to go to him to get their cars serviced. If you have the patience, then you'll be fine. If you want it fixed right there and then, you might want to look elsewhere. Besides that, Chalard is legit. My family has never had any issues with bringing our cars to his shop.

My mom was a devoted customer....and i have been going to him with my car. Combined our cars have spent over 20 years in this guys hands. I remember we went in to get my car looked at with the toyota dealership and the estimate was $800 something...we called Chalard with the diagnostic sheet and asked how much it would be it was $200 or something like that. We immediately drove the car to his shop. He is Thai so communication was not an issue for our family, and most important he is honest. If he does not see anything wrong that is what he will say. Sometime I wish he were more through but you cannot have it all. I have taken my car in like multiple times for an oil check and I complain that there is something wrong here or there. He always checks and says your wrong..its all good charges me for the oil change and we are out. I really recommend him cause he is no bull! He does get really busy sometimes.

Chalard is the most stand up auto repair guy I've ever had the pleasure of personally taking my automobiles to. This man is always be upfront and honest. If there isn't a problem, he won't "pretend" fix your car and charge you. If he can't fix it, he won't charge you. Trust is a five letter word. Trust should be this man's middle name. I just bought another new 'used' car recently. Its time to introduce Chalard to my new family member, the Acura TL.

Holy cow, Chalard is AMAZING. I went there with very low expectations about my car--it broke down unexpectedly and the first mechanic I went to quoted me $2800 to fix it, and recommended I just junk the car. I decided to take it to Chalard for a second opinion, and THANK GOD I did. He told me the other guy didn't know what he was talking about and he could do the fix for about $1300. I picked it up the other week, and omg my little car purrs like a kitten. It sounds/drives better than it EVER has. He offered to do a free checkup after 500 miles just to make sure everything is ok. Chalard, you are my automotive savior and a god among men. Other notes: yes, the place looks really terrible from the outside--like a chop shop, actually, but trust your fellow yelpers, things are not as they appear. Also, they took 2 days longer to fix it than they estimated, but not a big deal . . .

ASTOUNDINGLY HONEST AND INEXPENSIVE. After 10 years of calling Chalard my mechanic, I can't say enough great things about him. Each and every friend I've sent to him with car trouble have come back a devoted fan of this fantastic man. In a business full of petty crooks, Chalard is a shining example of honesty, quality, integrity, and skill. Enio

This place is AWESOME! I've been going to him for over 20 years and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my cars. Chalard is truly the last honest mechanic. Like the other reviewers said, he will not fix something unless you need it and his prices are just right (read - very cheap/reasonable). You'll be sorry if you don't go to him!

BEST mechanic EVER! He knows what he's doing and doesn't give you the run around and help out in more way than you can imagine. He's like FAMILY. I highly recommend you get all your services done here.

Chalard truly is the bomb! I can't say enough good things about him so I'm letting the stars speak for this review. I just wish he wasn't in Burbank (or at least I wish I had a friend that could pick me up and drop me off when my car would be serviced there).

Chalard is so smart he knows exactly what is wrong with you car every single time. I've gone to him after having other places tell me that it's one thing that needs fixed and he always proves them wrong! Why would I go elsewhere you say if he's so good? Time and convenience. I live in Hollywood and he is in Burbank. It's not always easy to get a ride over to him and then he does take a little time to work on your car so you have to be willing to be without your wheels for a couple days-depending on what the issue is. However, it's totally worth it as he has the most competitive pricing, he will never steer you wrong, he only fixes what needs fixed and never overcharges you for unwanted things. He is a rockstar in my book and I LOVE HIM! I really do, I wish he were a dentist or a hairstylest too because I trust him so much! One thing though, he is Asian and kinda hard to understand sometimes so don't freak out if you don't get what he's saying, just trust that he will do the right thing. Also, when you call, a lot of times the phone is not picked up and you have to call back but it's only because he's working his butt off so he can get your wheels back to you so you can make it to those auditions all over the city! If you're tight on cash and even if you're not, he is the best deal around and the most competent!
