Imagine. Your car breaks down and stops running, ugh! Riddle me this, what to do next? Luckily for me, BF has AAA to save the day. Wonderful! What next, Batman? I mean, I don't know about you but I sure don't know of a trustworthy, fair mechanic. Ouch. Yeah, so that was me about 2 weeks ago: damsel in distress with no ride. I needed to make moves and I needed to make them fast. So, while en route to Burbank in the AAA tow truck, I decided to do a hail mary and threw dice down on Yelp - up pops Chalard. What the heck, dude sounds like a Pokemon. Anyway, AAA drops off my ride and I pray to the auto gods. Please be fair. Please be cheap. Please Yelpees be right. Please, oh, please! Like all the other Yelpees said, Chalard is a man of few words. ::::very.few.words::::. And when he speaks, he's tough to understand. Cherry on top is he comes off as a bit of a grouch - so be patient my little darlings. Chalard's got you. Not only will your patience pay off, but the auto gods + Chalard will restore your ride back to tip-top shape as well as your faith in mankind. There are still decent businessmen out there, hey now!! Plus, you won't walk away missing an arm or a leg, he's fair. I even got $100 off the original quote plus he guaranteed his work for 12 months or 12K miles, whichever comes first. Definitely recommend Chalard and all his Pokeman friends to take care of your ride, will be using his services for any auto maintenance required.

Chalard is an honest businessman in an industry that desperately needs him. I've taken my fiancé's car here on multiple occasions, and including my own project car. Each time, he's always been very transparent and communicative of what the issues were, and how much he'd predict it would cost, and how long it would take. Admittedly if you don't know him, he can come off a bit cold - but that's just his personality. Consider bringing him a gift when you come pick up your car, it always did wonders for us and Chalard always was very appreciative. Will definitely keep coming back as long as I'm a local.

Chalards auto repair is simply awesome. I got my front brakes completely repaired and when I first stopped in to receive a quote I was quoted at about 180-200 dollars. This was much cheaper than any other bigger named companies repairing them and trying to simply rip me off. I knew what needed to be fixed yet the other companies tried to force me to do so much more. I dropped my vehicle off in the a.m. and my vehicle was repaired before the day was over and to top it off it turned out even cheaper than what he had originally quoted me! It was definitely a pleasure doing business with chalards and they will be receiving my business and referrals to my friends and family.

We are Burbank residents and have used many local mechanics but I cannot say enough good things about Chalards. It is so small and looks nothing like you would expect but onto be fooled. This man of few words fixes everything , stands by his work and has helped us with not only urgent repairs but his prices are unbeatable. With a recent emergency water pump repair, he fixed our car in 5 hours and charged us so low compared to other places that I gave him a tip! Chalard's auto repair is the best! On my way to work, I got a call from home that my car had leaked fluid all over the driveway. I was told my car was not safe to drive since we didn't know if it was brake fluid or power steering or oil so I had to take it to a mechanic ASAP. I found Chalards on yelp with great reviews, so I called. He doesn't take walk ins, but since I called in the morning before 8am and explained that it was a bit of an emergency, he said I could bring my car in if I was able to leave it all day. I did that and decided to just pick it up after work. Well it turns out that my oil filter was cracked and was spilling oil all over the place. I had just gotten my oil changed at Jiffy Lube the week before so I was confused. Turns out the idiots at jiffy lube screwed the oil filter back on with a wrench instead of by hand, cracking the filter in the process. Because of their incompetence, I lost over half the oil in my car. If I hadn't taken my car in that morning, the lack of oil could have killed the engine in my car. Chalards was very straight to the point and wasn't trying to trick me or overcharge - he replaced the filter and refilled my oil for just $20! He is seriously amazing and I will always take my car here from now on. Moral of the story - Chalards is the BEST place to go (just call ahead first) and NEVER GO TO JIFFY LUBE EVER AGAIN... They'll ruin your car.

Came here to fix my girlfriends brakes which were pretty much shot. Although he didn't take walk-ins, he was kind enough to fit us in as we did not live in the area, despite having a full schedule. Fixed the rotors, put on new brake pads and gave us a very reasonable price for what was done. So glad to have my girlfriend safe and worry-free that her brakes will fail at any moment!

He's a real old school small town mechanic who won't dick you over. He cares about the cars and less about scamming you.

I think what amazed me and impressed me enough to try Chalard's Auto Repair was their rating here on Yelp, I mean a 5 STAR RATING for an Auto Mechanic? Could it be possible? It is when you're talking about this place. When I needed rear brakes and a fuel filter and everyone elses estimates seemed to be way over-inflated, I decided to stop by Chalard's - and I am SO GLAD I did. Everything you've read from other 5 Star Reviewers who have called him an "excellent" and "honest" mechanic with "fair" and "reasonable" prices is absolutely true. Several other mechanics I had visited first tried to tell me that certain things were wrong with my car and needed to be repaired or replaced but I already knew better and so when I asked Chalard about repairing those items he honestly said "You don't need it." When he tried tightening an upper radiator hose to stop a very small leak and it didn't work he discovered a tiny pinhole in the radiator where the hose was fitting. Chalard patched the hole NO CHARGE at the time he did the other work I needed. This is really a classically GREAT mechanic supervising other great mechanics in his repair shop and it would benefit other Auto Repair shops everywhere to look at Chalard's as the BENCHMARK role model for their own work and ethics standards. ;)

Chalard's is excellent. I recently moved to the LA area all the way from New York and brought my car with me. Within a month of being here, my fuel pump failed and I had to have AAA come save me. They brought me to Rocky's Commercial Auto, because it was AAA approved, who fixed it for a pretty penny. They also informed me that I needed my front wheel bearings replaced and they could do so for just $550. I couldn't afford that so I went online and found Chalard's. I went there based on only the reviews because I'm new and don't know a lot of people in the area anyway. He agreed my problem was the wheel bearings and said to come back in two days so he could order the part. Sure enough, I dropped it off this morning and within two hours he called and said my car was ready. The bill came to $128. I was so surprised! He's truly an honest and fair man, which is rare out in LA & in the auto industry. My car runs like new and I couldn't be happier. I won't go anywhere else for as long as I'm in LA.
