Unfortunately, i just found out that Chalard has sold his shop and is now Called F.A.S (Future Auto Service). These guys told me that Chalard was on vacation but his staff still worked there and that Chalard would be back soon. Everything the new owners said was FALSE, Chalards staff DOES NOT work there and Chalard himself DOES NOT plan to work there again. I have been taking my Honda Accord to Chalards for over 10 years. Great work, Great prices and Chalard is one of VERY FEW mechanics that will tell u exactly whats wrong with your car and not swindle you. If ANYBODY knows any news on Chalard and/or if hes opening a new place please share the info. He will be missed

My initial encounter with the new ownership was sketchy to say the least. We noticed the place had been cleaned up spotless and the "Chalard's" signage was removed. I swing back around and the new guy who I am assuming was the new owner told me that Chalard was on vacation and "he might be back next week, maybe the week after; but he still works here." Long story short, I was finally able to pry the truth out of him that Chalard had sold the business. He said we can still bring our cars there and that he would take care of us. Maybe it's an honest repair shop, but all I know is he tried to mislead me from the start. The new business will be called "Future Auto Service." He initially said "Future Auto Sales", but took it back. As I was driving a way, I noticed a car on the lot with a dealer ad license plate which said Future Auto. Probably runs two businesses.

This place is under new ownership. Which worried me at first then I dropped my car off (had no idea until I saw the shop was all cleaned up!) This place always had the best prices and was super HONEST. Was nervous things were gonna change. (I never trust mechanics...) Thankfully this place is still great! Repair was done quickly. Customer service was on point. They showed me the damage. And they charged a SUPER reasonable rate. Can't ask for more. They seem to still be in the process of opening up the shop so I hope prices don't rise when their fully open. This place is crazy close to my house and the dudes were really nice. Hope it stays awesome.

This is a great place, came highly recommended by a good friend. Always get vehicle repaired same day at a reasonable cost. Will continue to take my car here as this place is consistent. FYI! This place has new ownership. Apparently Chalard's mechanic is still there but I was told Chalard himself was on vacation? Had my car towed to Chalard's after speaking to Peter which seemed really nice & helpful over phone. Car was turning off & stalling after I tried to release clutch while in gear. After a day of trying to diagnose it, Peter called me next morning & explained that the car was running fine & that he cleaned the throttle body for me, "not to worry", "No charge" which was most excellent, reassured me that the new Chalard's would still try to put out good customer service with integrity. At the end he Gave me a card which read "Future Auto Service" Thank you .

Chalard is simply the most reliable and honest mechanic around. He will bend over backward to help your situation and is beyond reasonable with his prices. I've been going to his shop since 1994 and I always send people to him. They're equally as pleased. There's a market across the street with great breakfast burritos, coffee etc. and a fantastic makeup brush store (Morphe) a couple of blocks up if you needs to spend some time in the area. There's also a laundry place near the market if you want to kill two birds. I cannot thank Chalard enough for his amazing service. He will always have my business.

If you want to spend a lot of money from the beginning, you can just go to many other places. Chalard is so honest that he will first try to fix it with a minimum (or no) cost if he thinks it's worth trying that way, then he will definitely see it through and fix the problems completely if he is sure new parts or further fixes are necessary. Some people might not like this approach, and may just conclude they are that as good as we're saying they are. As you can see from the majority of great reviews however, you can absolutely trust this place. Chalard is still the best and the most honest mechanic around. Once you go to Chalard's, it's hard to trust anyone else. They are skilled, they are humble, and they are honest. Remember, there are many good mechanics who can fix your cars: their approaches and costs are all different. Chalard's has been more than a great shop for me for many years. I will never go to anyone else.

My family and I have been coming to Charlard's for manyyyyy years. All of us. There aren't too auto mechanics out there that I trust...Charlard's is one of the two place I do drop off my car at. Charlard's works on Japanese cars as well as European cars. He has been doing it for years and runs the shop himself with a few other techs. Mr. Charlard is always in. Don't let his non-emotional demeanor deter you, he is all business at work. The man is an awesome guy and will explain what is wrong with your car to you. He will also save you some money. I've been coming here for years, he use to scare me when I was little thinking he was mean. He's not!! Lol. Mind you, he is always busy. So call first and plan on leaving your car for a few hours or a day or two. Legit auto mechanic!

After some Yelp research I was led to Chalard's auto repair. Not a man of many words but his honesty speaks for itself. I went in for front and back brakes. The price was very reasonable . Another mechanic from a different establishment had suggested I needed other work on my car, Chalard's said that was not true and only did the brakes.Wow, an honest mechanic.thank you Chalard's. I will be back in the future, but hopefully not too soon ;-)

This place saved me money & my car!! So what happened was my car was stuck in reverse while I had it on drive. Tried switching it to all the other gears, but it was still stuck in reverse. So I shut off the car to 'reset' it thinking that'll work. Nope! Now it didn't want to start. My car was dead. I'm thinking, there goes my transmission..I would have to cough up a lot money to get this fixed! We towed my car near Chalard's shop last night, which was less than 10mins away & they were already closed. (That tow cost me $100!!!) The next morning, my boyfriend went to the shop briefly told him about the situation and Mr. Chalard just told him to give him the keys, asked where my car was parked, and that he will call him when my car was ready. Mind you, Mr. Chalard was on the phone while my boyfriend was explaining to him where my car was parked and also said that he was busy that day and will try to fit my car in his schedule. Anyway, my boyfriend got a call from the shop about a couple hours later and told him that my car would be ready in an hour and would only cost my $50 for the repair. Yes, only $50!! I was so happy when I heard the news. We picked up my car after I got off from work and it was running smooth. I would highly recommend him to anyone! He is straight to the point! But if you're the type that wants to talk about your day with him... then perhaps you should go somewhere else. Mr. Chalard's seriously saved me TIME & MONEY!

Charlard's is the best mechanic shop I have been to period. Charlard is not much for customer service and being social, but like everyone else says on this page, he is HONEST and charges a very reasonable rate for his services. He recently charged me about $160 for fixing a hard to find issue involving an axle of my car. If I would have brought my car to my past mechanic, I believe I would have been charged over $600 for the work. Give him a call the day before you want to bring your car in. He'll do a good job and you'll see why there are so many others here that give him 5 stars.
